Thanksgiving

This year Thanksgiving was spent with Justin's family.  It was a long awaited break for both of us, with Justin having just finished up his anatomy final, and me taking a break before the final papers and presentations are due.  It was nice to get away for a couple days and spend time with family.

Besides having Thanksgiving dinner, we were able to do other fun things: helping to cook, attempting to fly kites, shoot shotguns, and of course....Black Friday shopping.  Sadly, the shopping has now moved to Thursday night, but we decided to go out looking for some gifts we chose to get for a giving tree in our ward.  The shopping actually wasn't that bad; probably a little "low-key" compared to what it would've been like in Lincoln.  We hit stores at 8pm Thursday, and 5am Friday.  We got everything we set out to find :)

Justin also got to run a 5k in North Platte, and got third place overall.  Woot, woot!  It was freezing cold, especially when the wind started to pick up.  He did awesome!  He got picked for a raffle prize, and we came home with some fall decorations from that, and then he got a vegetable tray for placing 2nd in his age group.  Ironically, the raffle prizes seemed to be better than the prizes for the winners, but whatev.

Justin was awesome enough to remember to bring our camera on the trip, but we didn't take any pictures.  Lamesauce.  On the way home, he made me stick the camera out of the car window to take a picture of the sunrise so that we would have something to put on the blog.

We made it back on Friday in time to watch the game with Ben, Janet & family, and Jeff, Tasha, & James.  Luckily, the Huskers won, even though I wish we would have beat Iowa by more.  It's off to the Big Ten Championship!  Go Huskers!
