Sorry that it has been a while since we have updated our blog. We have been pretty lame and have not taken any pictures for awhile.
This is a pile of trees that i burned that was more than 10 yards tall and 30 yards long and 20 yards wide. I put about 80 or more trees in this pile. These are all trees that did form the drought and a disease by nematodes. It burned really hot and i took this picture from about 30 yards away.
Here are some pictures of what Dental Day is like. We have students dress up as tooth fairies, perioman, orthoman, and other dental related specialties. This year we had about 175 kids come and get free dental work, play games and we feed them. We went through about 1000 hotdogs, chips, cookies, 24 gallons of ice cream, and other supplies. I kept busy from 6am to about 4pm when we finish cleaning up. This year kids came from Columbus, Lexington, Wakefield, Crete, Beatrice, Fremont, and from some smaller surrounding towns of Lincoln.
Behind the people and to the right there is a 1870's dental office with vintage tools and cabinets from the time.
Joseph and Kaylin came down for the Valentine's Dance and it was fun to have Jeff and Tasha there too. Jami got to teach some foxtrot (and Justin helped!!!).
We have really been enjoying working at the Temple and we have been learning a lot. I hope that all of you take the opportunity to go to the temple as often as possible.
Our friends, Kyle and Stephanie, invited us to go ice skating this weekend. It was a free skate night for SCC students, and each student could bring up to three people. How can you turn down free ice skating? The answer is simple. You don't! Besides, Justin had never EVER been ice skating before (and as I found out later that evening, had never EVER done any skating, rollerblading, etc in his life....EVER! I know, shocking.)
My favorite part of the ice skating "experience" was that Justin had said the day before (when I tried to warn him that it was fairly difficult for a first time), that he does everything amazingly the first time he tries it. He probably should have taken my warnings seriously. He took a couple good falls, and I am proud to say that the only two times I fell was when he took me down with him. He probably was going the fastest when he was just running on the ice, not skating. Toward the end, he seemed to be catching on to the idea of actually skating. We had fun!
This was probably Justin's favorite way of getting around....
Justin was cute for Valentine's day, and creative as usual. He made me this balloon bouquet of flowers. It's a hidden talent I never knew he had. I thought it was fitting since just a night or two before we were looking at the SCC continuing ed classes catalog, and we saw a class teaching how to make things with balloons. Apparently, Justin already has that skill and I was very impressed.
