We're a little late in posting, but we had our ultrasound over a week ago and found out we're having a baby girl! Condolences may be sent to Justin, but I, on the other hand, am ecstatic!
I was freaking out only a little bit, because the tech wasn't able to find a good shot of genitals for what seemed like THE. LONGEST. TIME. It didn't help that I felt like with my "need to know" it served me right if we couldn't tell the gender. But, finally at the end, we got it!!
We also had to do a vaginal ultrasound to get the head measurements. She was so low, and even though she had plenty of space to move into, would not budge even with all the poking and prodding the tech gave (is it too early to think she inherited both Justin's and my stubbornness?). Our best pic came from the vaginal ultrasound, though. Take a look at that leg!
I started feeling her for the first time this week, too. I must be pretty oblivious. I guess I was expecting I would feel something randomly...then feel it again a day or two later. You know, gradually building up to a constant thing. But no. Ever since I felt her unmistakably, it's been going strong. And, am I the only person that does not like the feeling? I'm still giving myself time to adjust (and it's not like I want it to stop, because then I'm going to think something is wrong), but the whole thing about feeling things inside of you is weird. A miracle, yes, but weird.
Me at 21 weeks. I think I look more "fat" than like I have a baby bump, but whatevs. I've just stopped wearing tighter shirts until it is unmistakably a baby bump. I had a co-worker tell me this week she thinks I can get by my whole pregnancy without wearing maternity clothes. I don't think I'll be that lucky. I'm sure feeling bigger!
Other than that, life has been really good for us. Justin is in full swing into his semester, and crossing his fingers that school is cancelled tomorrow so he doesn't have to take a test. Church was cancelled today, and temps are supposed to keep dropping with more snow and wind. I'm hoping that they might close down at work, too....or maybe at least have a late start :)
