4th of July

No, we do not have any pictures.  I know, lamesauce.  Justin even mentioned this weekend that we needed to take some, so that just shows you how long it's been.  Usually, I'm twisting his arm to get one.

The best part of this weekend was getting to see Justin, of course!  He got to Lincoln Wednesday night.  We both ended up working Thursday, but it was good we were both busy, and then that night we got to kick off our 4th of July celebrations by having dinner with Justin's mom, Jeff & Tasha, and Jordan & Alyssa.  We then headed off to watch the Lincoln city fireworks at Oak Lake Park.  The actual 4th did not feel like a holiday for me.  Justin and I did some homework, and then we did go over to someone's home for some food and games.  Saturday was filled with more studying, shopping, and a date.  I made Justin go mini-golfing and SCHOOLED him.  Just sayin'.

Overall, the weekend went way too fast, but it always does when it's a weekend we get to be together.  I just have to take it one chunk of time at a time.  I'm already counting down to the next meeting: 24 sleeps (yes, I count sleeps, it's easier that way.  Days get too confusing...do you count the day you're on? The day your anticipating?  Sleeps is clear-cut).  Justin thinks I'm a little ridiculous that I am always counting, and it probably does make the time go slower, but I can't help it when it's something I'm anticipating.  It's like advent calendars, but one I get to do over, and over, and over....and over.  Maybe it'll lose it's appeal before the year is up.  Or, maybe I'll start going overboard and start counting the number of fast Sundays left (there's 10 in case anyone was wondering), or hours (nope, I haven't gone that crazy yet).

Jami passed her licensure examination test this past week for her Marriage and Family Therapy License, so if you read this blog you are probably the first to know.  We have not told anyone yet but I figure the important people read this blog.  Now she just has to complete the hours and she will be considered licensed and able to practice.  Thought I would just let everyone know how spectacular she is even though we pretty much keep to ourselves.

  1. I guess I should have read your blog sooner. I forget to check it when it doesn't just pop up automatically...or I don't get the time because I'm chasing kids! Congrats on passing your test Jami and I would be a counter too!
