Evalyn's First Vacation

Evalyn is 4 weeks old! Before leaving to visit family we had an appointment for here (at 2 weeks), and she's up to 8lbs 5oz. Growing like a weed! We've been on vacation visiting family, and it's crazy how much she has grown during this time.  Her favorite thing is to sleep on people, not in her bed, she's starting to be a little more personable, and maybe even starting to show a little bit of attitude.

Since being on vacation, she's gotten to see everyone in our families. On our way out to Utah we stopped in Hershey, and she got to meet Great Grandma and Grandpa Seifer, and Great Grandma Blomstedt, and Ben and Janet, Joseph and Kaylin and their families.

Then it was on to Scottsbluff where she was introduced to John and Jessica, Jason and Staci, and their families.  It was fun to see her cousin that's just a couple weeks older.

The drive to Utah went well. She did pretty well in the car up until the last hour of the trip. She has gotten to meet all of my family, including her Great Grandma Astle, and Great Grandma and Grandpa Jackson. She even had a post-birth shower and got more gifts that we have no idea what to do with. Every time Justin and I are in Utah, and the weather is decent, we try to do a hike. So, Evalyn went on her first hike. She slept through most of it, but it nearly killed me.  I looked up easy hikes, and this one was described as a short 1-mile "stroll." I thought that would be okay 4 weeks postpartum. It was uphill the entire way, and I probably had to stop for breaks at every switchback. I think the combination of the altitude, being exhausted, and not having done anything for 4 weeks took its toll.

Justin is getting ready to take the NCLEX on Thursday. On top of studying, he's been helping my family with home improvement projects.  He's look forward to starting his new job in a week. Real life begins :)
